Fossil fuels don’t belong in Vancouver homes
Natural gas furnaces and hot water heaters produce 57% of Vancouver’s carbon pollution. That’s why, almost five years ago, our city became the first local government in Canada to limit the fossil fuel in new homes.
But in July 2024, Mayor Sim and five of his ABC councillors moved to toss out those restrictions and allow builders and developers to once again install natural gas heating equipment.
Let’s not go backwards.
We need to send a clear message to Mayor Sim and ABC councillors Rebecca Bligh, Sarah Kirby-Yung, Mike Klassen, Brian Montague, and Lenny Zhou, who supported this move: Climate action is non-negotiable.
Add your name to the growing community standing up for safe, healthy, all-electric homes.
Tell Mayor Sim and his councillors that Vancouver voters won’t stand for this.
